Everybody needs a buddy.

Our vision at The Buddy Organization is to give special needs kids a secure sense of warmth and belonging.

We work to provide these kids with a compatible high school friend—a "Buddy"—who can help them improve their social skills by working with them one-on-one consistently throughout a set period of time.

We focus on closing the communication barrier between special needs kids and the general public by helping the kids become more comfortable with making new friends.

We work with children of all ages!

Lauryn Tuo

Hello! My name is Lauryn Tuo, and I am the Co-President of The Buddy Organization! I am currently a senior at Lynbrook High School. I love working with special needs children and seeing them grow and have fun along the way. Along with working with The Buddy Organization, I also volunteer at Friends of Children with Special Needs, where I supervise the children and help them with listening activities to develop their social and communication skills. In my free time, I enjoy eating ramen, playing the saxophone, and playing volleyball with my friends. I can’t wait to work with your child!

Elaine Wang

Hi! My name is Elaine Wang and I am the Co-President of The Buddy Organization. I am currently a senior at Saratoga High School. I started working in the Buddy Organization after having the pleasure to work with many special needs children at The Buddy Organization Summer Camp. Through this rewarding experience, I developed my interest in working with these kids to explore their passions and become great friends with them. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies with friends and playing the cello. I am so excited to meet your children!
